The GVA Way

At GVA, we believe:
That highly dedicated, growth-oriented faculty and staff are the most important drivers of student success.
Why It Matters
At GVA, we know that the single strongest influence on a child's school experience isn't a program, a curriculum, or a technology tool; it's the people who show up for them every day.
Students thrive when they are guided by adults who are committed, reflective, and continually growing in their craft.
Dedicated, growth-oriented staff create the conditions where students feel known, challenged, and supported. Their passion fuels engagement. Their consistency builds trust. Their learning becomes the foundation for student learning.
What We Prioritize
Purpose-Driven Hiring: We seek educators and staff who bring heart, humility, and a willingness to grow.
Continuous Learning: Professional development, coaching, Peerfesh, Cohorts, and Learning Walks all exist to help adults refine their practice.
Collaborative Culture: We create systems where staff learn from one another, share ideas, and support collective improvement.
Reflective Practice: Growth happens when adults pause, analyze, adjust, and try again with intention.
Consistency of Care: GVA staff show up for students with reliability and compassion day after day, moment by moment.
Modeling for Students: Children watch how adults handle challenges, feedback, and improvement. Our staff model resilience, curiosity, and dedication.
In this Peerfesh session, 6th grade teacher Ms. Cartwright, visits a peer's classroom to model how to launch a classroom "Kindness Center."
Let's Make This Belief a Reality

Partner with us in celebrating the adults who pour into your child each day. Encourage your child to notice the dedication around them: teachers preparing lessons, aides offering support, office staff welcoming families, leaders guiding learning, etc. Let your child see that adults grow, too. Share ways you are learning new things at home and talk about the effort it takes.
When students see the adults in their world improving, collaborating, and caring deeply, they learn to do the same. Together, we can teach our children that excellence is not a fixed trait; it's a lifelong pursuit.
